Humble (Indie) Bundle: The Third

It’s that time of the year again folks! The Humble Indie Bundle is back with a fresh new line-up of Indie titles for us to drool over. If you are, like myself, a massive Indie game fan you will probably already know about the Humble Bundle from the previous offerings however for those of you who missed out let me inform you. The Humble Indie Bundle is an ongoing series of bundle sales dating back to 2010, thought up by Jeff Rosen of Independent Game Studio Wolfire Games. The Humble Indie Bundle allows customers to purchase a collection of DRM-free cross platform Indie titles using a “pay-what-you-want” method, best of all the experiment supports the charity’s “Child’s Play” and “Electronic Frontier Foundation” allowing you to designate how much you want to give to each.

The event now on it’s fourth of the series has been hugely successful so far raising $1.25 and $1.8 million in sales, respectively, while the third fell short of $1 million. The event has had wide spread support from Platforms such as Steam and Desura where you can activate the games if you so desire as well as from individuals such as Notch, the creator of Minecraft who donated $2,000 during the second sale and most recent also sharing with his army of followers on Twitter. The massive success of the Humble Indie Bundle is down to the well planned website taking initiative of social networking making it easy for people to share the sensation with their friends and complete transparency, the website offering an extensive insight into the statistics of the sale throughout.

Personally I already own all of the games on offer and had done on the previous sale but that didn’t stop me from offering my money towards their cause as it is a just cause and nor should you. You’d be mad not to partake in this event and you really have no reason not to, just think about it, you can give however much you so desire for 5 great games helping the developers and charity’s all whilst helping to fund the next event! I can’t imagine any true gamer out there could resist this offer, it’s just not right.
